In July 7-9, 2008, the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) organized a workshop targeting Interoperability Conformance Testing, in Sophia Antipolis, with the participation of Dr. Yannis Charalabidis, on "Advancing Interoperability Standardization and Conformance with the use of Federated Registries". Since decisions on future eBusiness infrastructure should not just be based on technology and standards, the users communities are challenged in interoperability test events, organized by the ETSI's Plugtests, to test the interoperability with other partners in their own application space, to test the interoperability between different messaging standards using Gateways, to refine the design of an interoperable solution with their partners and to set the basis for interoperability rules and best practices within their community.
