In order to foster innovation and
enhance the quality of the services it provides, the Greek
Interoperability Centre through NTUA participates in EU and
national research, collaboration projects that address the legal,
organizational, semantic or technical aspects of interoperability
and align them to emerging trends, such as Future Internet,
Internet of Services, ICT for Electronic Governance and Policy
Modelling. G.I.C. experts and researchers collaborate with the
projects team in order to transfer knowhow on the interoperability
aspects of the research carried out, to strengthen the
interoperability considerations in the project design and
implementation.
Moreover, G.I.C. aims at promoting
interoperability projects' results, at developing collaboratively
with the project experts targeted interoperability demonstration
cases and scenarios that serve as proof of concept and are
demonstrated through the centre's dissemination mechanism to the
intended beneficiaries.
During the two years of GIC
creation and operation, the centre's researchers and experts have
participated in and collaborated with more than 15 research and
development projects that cover a wide spectrum of the
Interoperability Knowledge Map. This has allowed the centre to
develop its research capacity and expertise in dealing with
interoperability aspects that arise in a wide range of projects and
application domains.
This section provides provides an
overview of G.I.C.'s experience in participating, contributing and
following up the results of major projects implemented by its host
academic environment (the Decision support Systems of the
ICCS-NTUA) and its ever growing network of close collaborating
organizations.
