Harry Tsavdaris

Dr. Harry Tsavdaris is an
Electrical and Computer Engineer with a Ph.D. in Computer
Engineering. He has more than 15 years experience in analysis of IT
requirements, design, development, programming, documenting and
testing of IT systems and in the provision of training to their
users. He speaks fluently English and Greek and he has working
knowledge of French. Dr. Tsavdaris has in-depth knowledge of
software engineering methodologies such as structured
methodologies, agile methodologies, Rational Unified Process (RUP)
and the respective tools that implement the methodologies. He has
extensive experience in the design and implementation of network
security solutions, database management systems & management
information systems specifically designed for EC and Greek state
projects / programmes to support management and monitoring. He has
excellent knowledge of the current trends in object oriented
systems and databases, computer networks, distributed systems and
internet technologies. He has thorough knowledge of the project
management process of IT Projects, acquired through his involvement
in numerous projects related to management information systems. Dr.
Tsavdaris is also experienced in the design and implementation of
network security solutions including: firewalls (LAN, internet),
intrusion detection systems, OS hardening (UNIX, NT), security
policies. He has an excellent ability to integrate in
international/multicultural environments, rapidly self-start in
multi-client/multi-national projects and leading teams of IT
experts. Currently, Dr. Tsavdaris is the head of the IT Centre of
the EPU in ICCS-NTUA for the development of management information
systems for five Operational Programmes (Energy, Industry,
Environment, Education, Transport Infrastructures) of the Community
Support Framework for Greece (EC DG Regio).
He is the IT Senior Analyst of the
EC ROM-Project in the MED Region since 2003, and has been involved
in all IT aspects of the ROM-System and in the programming of
systems for proper uploading of the monitoring reports to CRIS.
Furthermore, he has contributed significantly to the methodology
for debugging/development of the ROM templates and he supported the
core team of the ROM-Project before and after Database Working
Group meetings in the frame of the cooperation with the ROM
Coordinator Project. Dr. Tsavdaris has recently managed the
development of the KOMIS (Knowledge Optimisation Meta-Information
System) which has been designed and developed by ICCS-NTUA for the
integrated management and administration of another complex
EC-financed project (ROM Monitoring). Furthermore, Dr. Tsavdaris
was the key IT expert of an EC-MEDA Project for the Electricity
Ministry in Syria, providing IT programming support and training to
the financial and accounting directorates of the involved Public
Establishments.
