"Cloud Infrastructures and Interoperability in the Public Sector"
within the context of the 5th Mediterranean Conference
on Information Systems, to be held in Tel-Aviv-Yaffo, Israel, on
12-14 September, 2010. The track, chaired by Ralf Klischewski
(German University in Cairo) and Yannis Charalabidis
(GIC/University of the Aegean), aims at providing the latest
research findings such as theoretical foundations, principles,
methodologies, architectures, technical frameworks, international
policy, standardization and case studies for upgrading the
infrastructure and achieving interoperability within the provision
of digital services from administration and businesses towards the
user citizens and enterprises. The track's agenda includes the
following papers:
- "Policy Processes Support Through Interoperability With Social
Media", by George Gionis - National Technical University of Athens,

Anna Mavroudi, Thanasis Hadzilacos - Open University of Cyprus,
Demetra Egarchou - Research Academic Computer Technology
Institute
Specific importance is to be placed
on multidisciplinary approaches, combining organizational, legal,
semantic, technical and participative elements of interoperability
and providing relative support by advanced information systems, as
well as on real-life application examples, showing adoption by
public administration, citizens and enterprises at international,
national or local level.
