The 2nd Panhellenic Student Innovation Contest in Electronic
Government, also known as "WeGov Awards 2011", was announced on
March 30, 2011, following the successful organization of the "WeGov
Awards 2010", where more than 50 nominations were submitted by more
than 20 Greek universities and Technological Colleges.
The "WeGov Awards 2011" is addressed to students from Greek
Universities and Technological Colleges, aiming to encourage and
promote youth innovation in the area of eGovernment.
The Contest is organized in collaboration with laboratories from
the University of the Aegean, the National Technical University of
Athens, the University of Piraeus and the Greek Interoperability
Centre, in cooperation with Universities from Greece and the EU
(Delft, Brunel). The competition is supported by public
administration bodies and other scientific and professional
bodies.
The Contest will select and reward the most innovative ideas and
prototype applications that demonstrate the impact of Information
and Communication Technologies in Electronic Governance with regard
to the improvement of the effectiveness of Public Administration
and the quality of services provided to citizens and
businesses.
Important dates:
The electronic submission of proposals will be active from
01/07/2011 until 15/07/2011
The final phase will take place in the Greek ICT Forum 2011.
